Wedding centerpieces are a crucial part of wedding dcor. They create a cheerful wedding atmosphere as well as support the wedding theme. Let’s have a look at some elegant wedding centerpieces.
A wedding decoration is an important part of any wedding ceremony. Elegant wedding centerpieces definitely add a style and glamor to the wedding decor. You may find a wide variety of wedding centerpieces, ranging from traditional and classic to contemporary and sensational ones. Floral arrangements are typically traditional, yet still popular wedding centerpieces. However, various items such as candles, plants, fabrics, etc. can be used to make attractive centerpieces. You can represent your wedding theme through these centerpieces.
Elegant Wedding Centerpieces
Elegant wedding centerpieces enhance the beauty of a wedding location. These centerpieces made up from different items are truly fascinating. For making such beautiful wedding centerpieces, you can get good ideas from various websites or magazines. A list of elegant wedding centerpieces is given below:
- The candle centerpieces offer a romantic ambiance for the wedding ceremony. The centerpieces made with the pillar candles look quite elegant and sophisticated. The tapered candles with attractive glass holders offer a perfect formal look. A combination of candles and flowers can form a magnificent centerpiece. The bowls with floating candles and flowers make a pretty presentation for the table centerpieces. The floating candles are available in various attractive shapes, sizes and colors. They come in various shapes of colorful flowers, fruits and butterflies. These pretty candles float gracefully atop a beautiful bowl of water and attract the attention of every guest.
- Flower arrangements are the traditional form of wedding centerpieces. A beautiful flowerpot blooming with vibrant flowers such as roses and lilies can be a breath-taking centerpiece. You can also use silk flowers, ferns and garlands for making wonderful wedding centerpieces. Different types of leaves and branches also can be used for making elegant centerpieces. A creative use of petals can make an exquisite centerpiece. Petals surrounding the candles can create a wonderful centerpiece.
- For the beach theme wedding, you can use large seashells surrounded by the sand. Place the star-shaped candles, sea glass and seashells on the sand. You can also place a small orchid at one corner.
- You can also consider some unusual things for your centerpieces, e.g. small sculptures, wooden carvings, peacock feathers and glass vases filled with large rocks or beach sand.
Making Elegant Wedding Centerpieces
You can make the elegant wedding centerpieces at your own with your creativity and imagination. These centerpieces are quite fascinating and less expensive. Here are some unique ideas to make attractive centerpieces. For making the glass rock gardens, choose a glass bowl and fill about one-third portion with decorative rocks. Then add some water and plant a wide variety of succulents. This centerpiece will be a striking attraction of your wedding ceremony. You can place a mirror at the center of the table and keep a beautiful wedding favor on it. It would be a stunning centerpiece for the wedding ceremony. You can make a creative use of sprayed twigs and hanging crystals offering a gorgeous effect. You can spray-paint the twigs in silver, gold or white. Long-stemmed vases filled with vivacious roses can also be a great idea for wedding centerpiece.
Elegant wedding centerpieces offer a unique and perfectly exquisite ambiance to the wedding ceremony. Make your special day truly memorable with these decorative centerpieces.

Brides today are looking for ways to make their weddings unique. The centerpieces are one of the biggest statements at the reception, and so that is a good place to try something original. One great idea is to create edible centerpieces.
There are a few things that make edible centerpieces such a great idea. For one thing, they are different than the usual flower displays. Your guests will find them to be a fun and fresh look. Also, if you have really beautiful tasty treats on the tables, their mouths will be watering in anticipation!
You know that you are going to be serving some sort of cake and/or dessert at your wedding. When you use that element as the centerpieces, you will be killing two birds with one stone, and saving money in the process. After all, the flowers that you would ordinarily use on the tables only last for one day. It would be nice to save money in that area so that you can splurge more on the things that really matter, like gifts of jewelry for each bridesmaid. Bridesmaid jewelry gifts are a lasting token of your friendship that will be enjoyed for years, not just a few hours like the centerpieces.
If you decide to do edible centerpieces, you want to make sure that they are beautiful enough to be used as a decorative element. It is important that they have some height and presence. One great idea is to have your baker create a small wedding cake for each table instead of making one larger one. Choose a cake that has at least three or more tiers so that it will stand above the glasses. You might want to position it on a pedestal for extra height.
Centerpiece cakes should be very festively decorated. A small bouquet of fresh flowers on the top would be a pretty way to add some color to your tables, and to get a few flowers into the dcor without the expense of a large floral arrangement. Fresh flowers are also one of the least expensive types of cake toppers available.
Another idea for edible centerpieces is to use decorative tiered dessert stands, and to fill them with luscious cupcakes, petit fours, lemon squares, and other tasty treats. If you do a cupcake stand, it can be a substitute for a traditional wedding cake. Little sweets like petit fours would make a nice alternative to a dessert bar, although you might still consider having a wedding cake to cut.
It is important that the dessert stands be as beautiful as the little pastries upon them. One nice idea would be to gather a collection of different stands from yard sales, flea markets, and the like. Choose one unifying theme, such as white china or clear glass, and then look for an eclectic assortment of stands with pretty details. It will give your tabletops a very personal feel.
Lastly, when using edible centerpieces, think about adding some extra details like candles around the stands. This will help to fill out the arrangement. In addition, once your guests have started to eat the desserts, you will want to have something pretty remaining in place on the table.
There is no reason to feel like you have to do things the usual way when decorating for your wedding. Edible centerpieces are a fun and unique alternative to the standard vase of flowers. You can be sure that your guests will love them!

The centerpieces are one of the most important parts of the wedding reception. They are the design element that will really set the tone for the whole affair. If you are looking for wedding centerpieces that are fresh, modern, and surprisingly affordable, consider displays of submerged flowers.
Brides want their centerpieces to be big, beautiful, and showy, and yet sometimes will find it to be prohibitively expensive to have enormous floral displays. After all, think about how many flowers go into just one large floral centerpiece, and then multiply that by ten or more tables, and suddenly you will find yourself with enough flowers to stock and entire florist shop! It can be particularly tricky to balance style and budget when you fall in love with one of the pricier blooms.
There is, however, a very chic way to get impressive looking centerpieces without totally blowing your budget. One of the hottest wedding trends right now is to fill tall clear cylinders with water, and then have the florist submerge flowers in the vessels. It is a unique concept, and yet it is truly beautiful when you see the finished effect. The best part is that you only need a few flowers per cylinder, since it is a narrow space.
Many favorite wedding flowers will work very well in submerged centerpieces. Tulips, orchids, berries, and amaryllis are all excellent choices, and they come in beautiful colors. Speaking of colors, with this type of arrangement, it is best to keep the look monochromatic for the cleanest effect. It is a modern chic style of centerpiece, so you want to keep it as unfussy as possible.
Once you have chosen a type of flower, you can get creative with the details. For instance, for a truly striking table, use multiple cylinders in varying heights in the center. You can either use the same kind of flower in each vase, or choose different flowers in the same color palette. Orchids are one of the most popular choices for submerged flower centerpieces, and they are available in some fabulous colors.
You can also choose to add some detail to the vessels, in the form of a decorative element at the bottom of each vase. For a Zen look, "plant" your flowers in a mound of smooth black pebbles in the bottom of the cylinders (which could also be rectangular, by the way). If you are going for an opulent evening look, then Swarovksi crystals make a fantastic element in the bottom of your vessels. These are the same crystals that are found in fabulous crystal bridal jewelry, and they will look amazing when the candlelight bounces off of them underwater. You can choose to match the color of the crystal used in your bridal jewelry, or go for a bold choice like deep red.
There are a few more ways to customize your centerpieces. Candles can be floated in the water on top of the flowers for a very pretty spa effect. For brides who want to have spectacular wedding centerpieces, and are willing to splurge, the ultimate in high style is to set a full floral arrangement on top of a submerged floral display. With so many ways to design them, submerged floral centerpieces are one wedding trend that is here to stay.

Whether brightening up your dining room table for a holiday dinner or cocktail party or adorning multiple tables at an event, the flower centerpieces you choose should add color and a bit of drama. You should choose flowers that fit with your theme and color scheme and best complement the room they are in. With just a little thought and planning, you will find your centerpieces to be a transformational element for your event and that they will become conversation pieces for those who attend.
There are several things to think about before you choose the centerpiece flowers for your event. These include:
- Space. If the venue for your event is small, do not choose huge arrangements for your centerpieces. These will only dwarf the space and create an awkward feel to the room.
- Color. For an event with a color scheme, you will want to choose flowers that match the chosen scheme. While they do not need to be an exact match, they should blend with the rest of the decorative elements.
- Conversation. For events where people will sit around tables and talk to each other before and after a meal, go with arrangements that are low enough to keep everyone’s view unobstructed. Smaller, more understated arrangements or bouquets of flowers are perfect for these tables.
- Fragrance. It is a good rule of thumb to select less fragrant flowers for centerpieces, particularly if people will be seated near them for extended periods. Anyone with allergies will be glad about this additional thoughtfulness.
- Cost. If cost is a consideration, you may want to go with a single flower choice for your centerpieces. This will help manage costs and create a sleek, chic look for your event. On the flip side, for added drama (and increased budget) you can choose a different centerpiece for each table and name them for seating charts.
The centerpiece flowers you choose for your event are important to the overall “feel” of the occasionbut there is no need to panic if you feel overwhelmed. Your flowers can be fun and whimsical or dramatic and elegant. If you can not make a decision, your florist will be a great resource for helping you make the best decisions based on your budget and needs. No matter what you and your florist decide, be confident that the flowers in your centerpieces will be a lovely addition and decorative touch.

Edible centerpieces can be both functional and decorative. I love summer because of the fruits and vegetables that I can grow in the garden. I have a large glass fruit bowl that I keep filled with freshly picked tomatoes that I can eat whenever I like. The bowl sits on the middle of my table looking fresh and cheerful, while the tomatoes are in easy reach for food preparation. When I pick more tomatoes I rotate them to make sure the riper tomatoes are used first. Throw in the odd green tomato and you’ve got two complementary colors to add some excitement to your edible vegetable centerpiece.
I also use this glass bowl for in season fruits, provided that the fruits are hardy enough to not need refrigeration. During the Christmas season I keep the bowl stocked with clementines. The citrus smell is inviting and the fruit is easily accessed by guests if they want to munch on something sweet and fresh. Combinations of citrus fruits work great throughout the winter, depending on what your family enjoys eating. Try lemons, limes, oranges, and grapefruits together for a variety of colors. For a summer centerpiece, use pears and plums. Apples are perfect for autumn. You can make all of apples the same kind, or use a variety for added interest.
My absolute favorite centerpiece involves dessert! No surprise there! This is a great idea for parties where you have bite-sized desserts that everyone will be helping themselves to. In the middle of your buffet table, place a large serving plate with a slightly smaller serving bowl on top of it. It’s ok if they don’t match exactly, no one will be noticing! Fill the plate around the bowl with cream puffs, brownies, truffles and other small desserts. Then fill the bowl with freshly cut fruit pieces, like pineapple, melon, grapes, cherries, or strawberries. Make sure both the plate and bowl are overflowing with food so that it looks like a very decadent creation! You and your guests can then choose if they want to eat healthy or… not so healthy.
Edible centerpieces can be very versatile both in the kind of food you put in them and the container you put them in. I like using a fruit bowl, but you can choose any kind of serving plate or bowl, baskets, or even a nice colander for that just washed look. Be creative and you’ll find a winning idea on your table in no time.

Edible Treats
Instead of silver-, glass- or marble-made centerpieces that are obviously expensive, a great alternative especially for couples that are on a tight budget are edible treats. You can bake your own mini-cakes and place each at the at the center of each table. This will not only give an attractive appeal to your reception, but this will also make your tables look festive and provide a delightful dessert to your guests at the same time. You may also consider cookie bouquets. Many pastry chefs can craft a large ‘cookies on a stick’. If you want, you can decorate them yourself using some pretty remarkable ways. Edible centerpieces is a perfect choice for a wedding on a budget. Thought will not fit in an elegant reception, but having them can be a lot of fun! Also, Molded chocolates and candies with you names and wedding date can double as wedding favors for guests to bring home.
Garden-Inspired Centerpieces
Another affordable choices of centerpieces are lollipop trees and other floral centerpieces. These are traditional pieces that are always a hit during weddings. They are timeless and beautiful, a good choice if you want to make an intimate and romantic reception. Fresh cut flowers are always available at the flower wholesaler or market. You don’t have to be an expert florist, either.
Others
Other affordable centerpieces options include candles, natural objects such as stones, leaves, pine cones, even twigs can add an organic aesthetic to your reception. You may place in rustic containers or scatter amongst pillar candles for added ambiance. Just make sure you inform guests that they free grab one at the end wedding.
There are still many ways and areas where you can save money on your wedding apart from having cheap wedding centerpieces. You can always save money by giving out cheap wedding favors, as well as inexpensive bridesmaids gifts and groomsmen gifts. Or, save money by serving homemade menus and wines. Just think creatively and make sure to always stay within you budget capacity whenever you opt to come up with something extraordinary. A cheap wedding idea don’t have to look cheap, so it’s all to you how you will wisely and creatively handle your wedding plans.

Balloons have always been associated with a fun, carefree, and festive time. What better why to show that your party is a time to celebrate than having a balloon centerpiece or two around the room? Before you hire a professional to have all the fun, check out some of these hints and tricks for making your very own balloon centerpiece.
Fun, Floating Flower
An easy way to create a great centerpiece that incorporates festive balloons and fragrant flowers is to use this method. Simply choose a balloon that is a favorite color, fill it 1/3 of the way with water, place a fresh flower inside, and place ribbon, netting, or even tulle around the balloon. Make sure the central balloon is stationary, and watch the flower and water ebb and flow whenever the people at the table get up to dance. It truly is a beautiful and festive centerpiece.
Holiday Centerpieces
Another great way to create centerpieces using balloons is to place a small battery powered candle inside the balloon. Make sure the wattage of the candle is extremely low, and the balloon is inflated just enough to allow for a gentle glow over the table. Add a garland of flowers and ribbons to suit your taste, and you’ve got a great conversation piece as well as a great centerpiece. If you want to take it a step further, give the balloon and flowers a light spray with a white or silver glitter spray for that frosted look. It’s a simple idea that makes each centerpiece look like a work of art.
The Sky Is The Limit
If you want a spectacular look when creating your balloon centerpieces, you can’t go wrong with this idea. Take some long ribbons, pre-cut, and attach one end of the ribbons to the center of the table, either through weights or tape. Take the other ends and attach them to some balloons filled with helium gas. As the balloons rise and twist into the air, they create a great sight and conversation piece for your next party.
As you can see, these are but a few of the choices you have to make some very festive centerpieces using a few simple balloons, pieces of ribbon, or the occasional ring of flowers.
Its amazing what a few ribbons, balloons and a little imagination can do! In no time, you’ll come up with centerpieces that will be the talk of your party. Let your imagination run wild and you will come up with a truly unique centerpiece.

Your wedding budget is limited and as you have just figured out, there is a danger that you might exceed in your expenses. There has to be some cost cutting somehow. You look at the menu and it looks like it is already a complete set that it would be hard to remove an item. It is important in your wedding reception that the menu is just right. Now where can we find something to save on money. It has not occurred to many that there are non floral wedding centerpiece ideas that are elegant and a whole lot cheaper. Everybody wants to make their wedding the greatest day of their lives but it doesn’t mean that the centerpiece for the wedding reception should always be with flowers. There is no rule that says you can’t do it without flowers. The only rule is that the centerpiece for the wedding reception should be elegant, impressive, a beauty to behold. There should be a touch of creativity to it. If one is able to do that without flowers while saving on money, then that’s the best thing to do. No one would ever think that you used a non floral centerpiece for cost cutting purposes. Here are some great ideas:
Adorn it with fruits. Fruits can easily take the place of flowers. Moreover, fruits of different kinds evoke a feeling of abundance, naturalness, feasting, and celebration. The different colors and contrast of the fruits gives a glaring and vivacious feeling fit for weddings.
How about harvest. Harvest seasons are times for celebrations. We can arrange farm harvest in such a nice way to evoke that feeling of joy after the harvest. Moreover, harvests signify prosperity and abundance for the newly weds.
Herb Garden Centerpiece. An herb garden centerpiece is a brilliant idea because it projects a feeling of wholesomeness and health. There is a kind of quiet harmony and wellbeing that it evokes.
Do it with rocks and fountains. There are numerous decorative rocks and fountains with which to create your wedding masterpiece. It’s unique and appear expensive but you can actually rent them. The good thing is that if you choose to buy, you can reuse it. You can easily give your living room that natural and relaxing scenery.
You might want to go on a seascape centerpiece. It’s unique, it’s creative, it’s fresh and creates a feeling of permissiveness and merrymaking. It will surely break the ice. Guests will immediately comment on your novel theme.
If majority of your wedding guests come from a single area, they would surely be surprised if you make a miniature of the area where they came from. For example, you might want to make a miniature of your office building and it’s environment. Or you might want to create a miniature of the romantic place where you first met. You can miniature anything that would create a howl of appreciation from your guests once they recognize it.
Ribbons, ribbons, ribbons. Ribbons are like flowers in the feelings that they stir up but they do not pretend to be replacements for flowers. They stand alone in their category. Ribbons of different colors and patterns and sizes contributes to the glamour of the occasion. You can easily contrive an elegant design with ribbons, which are very cheap but glamorous looking.
That techy look. If you want to have that ultra modern techy look, you may use props such as mirrors, computers, high tech gadgets, and imitate that space-look. You have to follow up these themes on your tables, curtains, and venue.
Adorn it with baby things. The greatest anticipation after the wedding is having a baby. If you are on the family way, why not design your wedding centerpiece with baby toy and props. If you are not on the family way, baby props suggests a sweetness and joy of soon having to have your own family.
If you are planning to have a unique wedding party, such as beach wedding, forest wedding, or any other thematic wedding, it is best to prepare your centerpiece for your wedding reception based on the theme including the cake too.
If you have scheduled your wedding on a special holiday, your centerpiece theme can take on the design of the holiday such as Christmas, the 4rth of July, Halloween, New Year and others. It will make your wedding day double special because it coincided with the holiday.
If you have collections in your house or you have friends who you can borrow collections from, then that would be the best. Do you have a friend who collects bonsai plants? Adorning your centerpiece with expensive bonsai trees would really induce wows from all your guests. Do you have your own antiques collection or do you have a friend who you can borrow from? This would be a right moment to show off your wares without spending so much. Crystals are perfect theme for your wedding reception centerpiece. They can come in different shapes and sizes yet they all bring in the classic air of finesse and fine dining. Dolls can really be good as it will create smiles from the guests. If you have a collection of different dolls around the world or even dolls from the oldest to the most modern, people will be attracted in your centerpiece and would linger around it for a while. Elegant decorations of different types if they are carefully arranged and patterned would be pleasing to the eyes. If you have wonderful decorations that have no theme at all, it can be patterned with the colors of the ribbons and cloths that surround it.
There are literally thousands of ideas that would make the centerpiece for your wedding reception without adorning it with expensive flowers. It just needs a little creativity, a wild touch of imagination, and a little skill to do it. After all, it happens only once. There are several things you will need when planning a baby shower, one of which are the table centerpieces. Your baby shower centerpieces should be as adorable as your upcoming baby. They can be anything that can be an eye candy to your guests. There are so many baby shower centerpieces available in the market. However, it is necessary to choose pieces that complements the baby shower (if you have one).
Usually, when we think of centerpieces, the first thing that comes in our mind are flowers. Yes, flowers can make a beautiful decoration on the table, but it’s really quite simple to come up with more original centerpieces, for a lesser expense than a floral centerpiece. Just think creatively, you can put together great ideas for your centerpieces that can be assembled from items that are easy to purchase at local florist, supermarket, party shop and baby store. Assembling it is easy and won’t take too much of your time, and will have all your guests hoping they can have one to take home.
Baby shower basket can make an outstanding centerpiece. There are so many ideas to add on the basket. A charming baby buggy basket can be spray painted with any color you want. You can a piece of floral arrangement inside, and finish it with a bow tied to the top of the basket. Shower baskets looked very elegant on the tables, although the flowers war bought at a florist, it wouldn’t be difficult to assemble at home. Flower baskets are very good for baby girl showers.
Balloon are also a great centerpiece option. They can add a festive touch for any occasion. You can find different variety of balloons in a wide range of designs at your local party shops. Buy a matching weight to hold balloons on the table, an you have an instant festive centerpiece. Just make sure that strings are long enough that balloons don’t block the view across the tables.
For a unique decorative place setting, you can make napkin rings and placements. You can make placements out of plain white or printed diapers. Then, use the hole on the end of pacifiers with ribbon tied through as napkin rings. This option can make a very cute set up on your tables.
Another amazing centerpiece option is a baby diaper cake. This cake won’t be served to the guests for dessert, but this will do double purpose as a cute centerpiece and a very practical gift for the upcoming baby. All you need are of course plenty of diapers, ribbon (for tying), adhesive tape, assorted cute surprises - pacifiers, teething rings, combs, brushes, rattles, baby bibs, baby bathing toys, etc. - that will be inserted in each layer of the cake.
You can find other more ideas online. Visit online baby stores, they usually offer all kinds of baby accessories and baby shower supplies, from baby shower centerpieces, baby shower favors, decors, games to baby shower gifts.
