Edible Wedding Centerpieces

tropical and centerpieces Brides today are looking for ways to make their weddings unique. The centerpieces are one of the biggest statements at the reception, and so that is a good place to try something original. One great idea is to create edible centerpieces.

There are a few things that make edible centerpieces such a great idea. For one thing, they are different than the usual flower displays. Your guests will find them to be a fun and fresh look. Also, if you have really beautiful tasty treats on the tables, their mouths will be watering in anticipation!

You know that you are going to be serving some sort of cake and/or dessert at your wedding. When you use that element as the centerpieces, you will be killing two birds with one stone, and saving money in the process. After all, the flowers that you would ordinarily use on the tables only last for one day. It would be nice to save money in that area so that you can splurge more on the things that really matter, like gifts of jewelry for each bridesmaid. Bridesmaid jewelry gifts are a lasting token of your friendship that will be enjoyed for years, not just a few hours like the centerpieces.

If you decide to do edible centerpieces, you want to make sure that they are beautiful enough to be used as a decorative element. It is important that they have some height and presence. One great idea is to have your baker create a small wedding cake for each table instead of making one larger one. Choose a cake that has at least three or more tiers so that it will stand above the glasses. You might want to position it on a pedestal for extra height.

Centerpiece cakes should be very festively decorated. A small bouquet of fresh flowers on the top would be a pretty way to add some color to your tables, and to get a few flowers into the dcor without the expense of a large floral arrangement. Fresh flowers are also one of the least expensive types of cake toppers available.

Another idea for edible centerpieces is to use decorative tiered dessert stands, and to fill them with luscious cupcakes, petit fours, lemon squares, and other tasty treats. If you do a cupcake stand, it can be a substitute for a traditional wedding cake. Little sweets like petit fours would make a nice alternative to a dessert bar, although you might still consider having a wedding cake to cut.

It is important that the dessert stands be as beautiful as the little pastries upon them. One nice idea would be to gather a collection of different stands from yard sales, flea markets, and the like. Choose one unifying theme, such as white china or clear glass, and then look for an eclectic assortment of stands with pretty details. It will give your tabletops a very personal feel.

Lastly, when using edible centerpieces, think about adding some extra details like candles around the stands. This will help to fill out the arrangement. In addition, once your guests have started to eat the desserts, you will want to have something pretty remaining in place on the table.

There is no reason to feel like you have to do things the usual way when decorating for your wedding. Edible centerpieces are a fun and unique alternative to the standard vase of flowers. You can be sure that your guests will love them!
