Susan asks…

Unique and useable centerpiece ideas?

Its a summer wedding but were so confused on what centerpieces to use. We want something nice but also something that our guests will use later on

Susan answers:

Well I know your feeling! I’m getting married next April. I’m so clueless as to what type of center pieces I want to use for the tables. All I know, is that I want to buy vases at the Dollar Store and use them on the tables to put flowers in. Believe it or not, you can table decorations at the Dollar Store. They sell stuff in bulk.

Since, your getting married in the summer I would put out flowers for sure. Go online and look up the Dollar Store. They have nice vases that you can purchase. You could tell some of your guest that after the wedding they can take home a vase. You could also look at Martha Stewart’s website as well. She has wonderful summer wedding table decoration ideas. Congrats on getting married!

Lisa asks…

I’m looking for centerpiece ideas that won’t be too expensive.?

Susan answers:

Hi! I just got married last month, and we went to dollar tree and got some glass globes (not hurricanes, but the ones with the bottoms) some ideas we had were-
floating a single lit candle in water
you can also put one drop of food coloring in the water in your wedding colors to make the water glow a bit when the candles are lit)
you can sink a certain type of flower (hydrangea is BEAUTIFUL when it is sunk and you can use simple fishing weights to sink them)
you can buy big bags of wedding confetti at a party store or online, we spread some around our tables to give them a more festive look, and people also threw it when we left.
A good website to look into is oriental trading company. They have ALL Sorts of favors and other ideas on their site! Congrats to you!!
