HELP! 1940′s/Al Capone themed B-day Party!?
Hi!
We are having a sweet 16 Al Capone/1940′s themed party for my son. I am at a loss for ideas for 2 BIG table centerpieces. THINK BIG and oversized with that 40′s night club feel! All suggestions welcome!

Hi there! Thanks so much for commenting on the actual year he was in Chicago. I was probably going for a more 1920-1930′s feel anyway. I did check out the green mill as suggested, but there were no pictures in their gallery. I guess I’m still looking!

Susan answers:
First of all, Al Capone was active in the 1920s.
And you could research the Green Mill here in Chicago. It was one of his favorite hangouts.

Betty asks…
Alice in wonderland party?
I wanted to do an alice in wonderland themed party. for each table there would be a different centerpiece reflecting the different parts of the movie, like the roses and singing flowers, the walrus and clams, the queen, ect. I want the tables to be different, but still be tied together in some way. Any ideas??

Susan answers:
Perhaps you could tie them together by using the same table cloth? I would recommend checkerboard or something with bold patterns.
Or maybe you could use playing cards in some way. Sprinkle them on the table around your centre piece or use them as a sort of place card, with each guests name on the back.
Oh! You could replicate the Eat Me cake and the Drink Me bottle!
Hope this helps!
Good luck and I hope your party is a blast!

I need inspiration for centerpieces for an Information Technology/Telephone party…. no “geek” stuff, pls.
We’re hiring a new IT Director. Need to create centerpieces from computer parts / telephones / etc. – also room displays, etc. Any and all creative ideas would be welcome – altho I am trying to avoid the stereotypical “geek” IT stuff (pocket protectors, black glasses, etc.) Thanks!!!!
